The Forgotten Space, 2010, USA, 112 min.
Directors: Allan Sekula and Noël Burch
The Forgotten Space draws attention to those neglected industrial districts where globalization meets the sea: the docklands. This two-hour-long essay film, which draws connections between ports across the world and the people who work in them, is a kind of detective story about the workings of global capital. Its insights can help us to understand, among other things, Athens’s current economic predicament.
