RURUradio is an online streaming radio run by artists and interdisciplinary creative professionals to discuss current issues faced by people in the city of Jakarta. It echoes stories of everyday life, from the frivolous to the conceptual and absurd. RURUradio speaks from the standpoint of art and the broad scope of contemporary culture.
The streaming program ranges from discussions on music, live streamed music/gigs from the Indonesian indie scene, discussions on contemporary issues, reports on student and youth life and culture, film, radio drama, sports, arts (historical and contemporary), urban issues, and a combination of all of the above. The radio broadcasts every day via the internet and is operated by a group of young broadcasters who play the music that is both entertaining and evocative of the soul of a contemporary urban population.
