An experimental film by Carmelo Bene, a radical Italian theater director, Don Giovanni follows the attempts of a wealthy aristocrat to seduce a young woman. This evocative, atmospheric film is loosely based on Jules Barbey d’Aurevilly’s short story “The Greatest Love of Don Juan.”
